One of The Podcast Sisters, Heather Gorringe is presently touring the USA - looking for ideas on how to shake up the farming world through the use of social media. Brave lady, away from family she is spending 5 weeks looking for ideas of how other industries have used social media to turn their fortunes around.
Heather is writing about her journey, what she finds and also writing up resources that she comes across for case studies which may be useful to others. Krishna and I cannot wait to hear more about her findings for the podcast !
Heather firmly believes that social media can help rebuild confidence in the farming community, help rebuild local communities and also help increase the public awareness about the food chain. I agree and will be watching her journey closely as there will be huge lessons for all businesses....I think it would make a great TV program...sort of Maureen the bad driver meets Michael Palin!
In the meantime, good luck Heather, if anyone knows of people who could help her on her quest over in the US then just let her know at heather@wigglywigglers.co.uk

I just realised it's been decades since I last visited my Iowa cousins and now most of them have internet connections. I'm going to have to prod them to listen to Wiggly Wigglers because there's always something valuable happening when farmers start talking.

Thanks Anna for the inspiration of how to formulate my USA plan. If you want help in your business to cut to the chase I think Anna is just the jolly ticket.
As for Krishna - I think the show from Podcamp Ireland is one of the best Podcast Sisters - ever! Well done - I thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt lots - especially Neville from FIR talking about feedback and engagement.
Thanks Bernard having a chat to your Iowa cousins, it would be fantastic to chat to them.
I have put my photos up on Facebook - I'm not sure how to link there but if you want to see them - find me Heather Gorringe in the middle of Facebook.
Thanks all
