I often get asked about whether I use the tags within the audacity program. The answer is not really as it isn't the best tool out there. Of course you need the lame encoder, which you download with Audacity but I don’t use the tagging as it doesn’t allow you to add images and further information.
Instead I use the MP3 Tag tool which I find to be great in adding information to your file. If you need help in understanding the idea of tags or RSS feeds there is a great tutorial by Franklin McMahon which takes you through all the steps. The tutorial is in 3 stages - creating the mp3 file, the RSS feed and the submission.
