On Show 2 we said that we would blog about our failures, Krishna posted her thoughts yesterday. I have been putting off writing this post and I wondered why! Now I know. We talked about our blogging failures and I genuinely don't see that I have had failures. I see that I have had many learnings but blogging is about experimenting, it is about ideas, it is about trying new things and creating a conversation on line. Often that conversation is stronger if your post isn't perfect. In general terms these are ideas that I wish I had done earlier
- Started commenting on other people's blogs sooner. I was somehow afraid of writing my view, then I realised there is no right or wrong there are different points of view. Commenting creates the conversation.
- I love blogger as a starting tool but I would now create a blog with Typepad as it gives you greater flexibility.
- I would have started my business on a blogging platform not a website.
- I would have worried less about what I was writing. Now I write from the heart and ideas as they come into my mind. It allows my personality to come through the blog.
- I would have started blogging earlier!
Blogging for me is a journey, for me it forms part of my personal development and a notepad if you like of ideas. My key learning is that blogging is a powerful tool to communicate globally which means that my work is now restricted by the locality but whether I have wifi access!
